Lublin is commonly known as an academic city. Not by mistake, as it has many institutes of higher education like one of the oldest universities in Poland, Catholic University of Lublin. The city is also a home to: Maria Curie Skłodowska University, Lublin University of Technology, University of Life Sciences, Medical University and many private collages like College of Enterprise and Administration or University of Economics and Innovation.
Foreign students may request a place in students houses or dormitories. Usually it is the cheapest option with the best location. Most of students houses are situated in a close neighborhood of universities. It is also possible to rent a private apartment, however in that case it is necessary to sign an agreement with the owner which will be later used during registration of accommodation.
If foreign student wants to stay in Poland longer than 3 months, then must register the stay. It may be done in Residents Affairs Bureau on 14 Wieniawska St. Persons from the territory of European Union, willing to stay less than 3 month are not obliged to register their stay.
First of all, students must head on to the dean’s office to accomplish all formalities and receive their student’s card.
There is a special program for students called Study in Lublin: http://study.lublin.eu/en/
